半夏 Pinellia

半夏具有燥湿化痰，降逆止呕，消痞散结的功效。

用于湿痰寒痰，咳喘痰多，痰饮眩悸，风痰眩晕，痰厥头痛，呕吐反胃，胸脘痞闷，梅核气；外治痈肿痰核。 半夏片状不规则颗粒状成类球形。表面棕色至棕褐色。质硬脆，断面淡黄棕色，常具角质样光泽。

气微香，味淡、微有麻舌感，嚼之略粘牙。

Pinellia has the functions of drying dampness and resolving phlegm, reducing phlegm and relieving vomiting, dispelling sputum and dispelling knots.

For damp-phlegm and cold-phlegm, cough and asthma, excessive phlegm, dizziness due to phlegm-drinking, dizziness due to wind-phlegm, phlegm-jue headache, vomiting and nausea, chest and epigastric suffocation, plump qi; externally treat carbuncle swollen phlegm. Pinellia flakes, irregular granular and spherical. Surface brown to tan. Hard and brittle, with yellowish-brown section, often with horny-like luster. The gas is slightly fragrant, the taste is light, the tongue is slightly numb, and the chewing is slightly sticky.
